Ocean Majesty

All cabins are well-appointed and pleasantly furnished. Each cabin has its own private shower, washbasin and wc, telephone, satellite TV with film channel, three radio channels of entertainment and air-conditioning. Cabin categories J and K have DVD players and DVDs will be available for hire on board.
If you intend to make the most of the ship’s facilities and the shore excursions on offer, you may only need your cabin to be a base in which to settle at night. The most economical option is an inside two-bedded cabin, on Jade deck in category A. However, if you think you will want to spend more time in your cabin, you may want to pay a little more for an outside cabin with a window or porthole, or for a cabin on a higher deck. Categories D and E have a porthole, and all other categories have a larger window. A limited number of double beds are available in category I, and all category K cabins are double bedded. In some cabins in categories A, F, G, H, I, and J an additional upper berth is available, and an additional two upper berths in some cabins in categories A and G. In these, there will be a reduction of up to 60% for extra adults sharing a cabin with two full fare paying passengers – please ask our Holiday Advisors for further information.
Single cabins are available in categories D and E. Some twin cabins are also available for single occupancy in Categories A to I at a supplement of 75% on the prices shown in the price panels.
Whichever category you choose, everyone on board enjoys access to all the ship’s facilities, as well as the attentive service of a cabin steward who will see to your every need throughout the day – a level of service unique to cruising.
Please note A supplement of £25 per person is payable if you wish to choose a particular cabin number.
DAY 1 Sunday 14 June Harwich
Join the Ocean Majesty at Harwich in time for our 5pm sailing.
DAY 2 Cruising
Make the most of a relaxing day at sea to get to know the ship and your fellow passengers. The on-board team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and the daily programme will inform you of the many activities taking place.
DAY 3 Olden
Located in an idyllic valley, the timbered village of Olden is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, from picturesque mountains to lush vegetation. Europe's most magnificent glacier, the Jostedal Glacier, can be seen from here. The waters of the glacier flow into the stunning Oldenvatn glacial lake, which is located just outside Olden. Whilst in charming Olden, why not take a shore excursion to the Briksdal Glacier, experience more of the Nordfjord, or take a boat trip on Lake Loen.
DAY 4 Cruising
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy the on board facilities as we sail north and perhaps join one of the port lectures to learn about the fascinating places we will be visiting.
DAY 5 Lofoten Islands
The Lofoten Islands are renowned for their stunning scenery. The rugged beauty, craggy peaks and soaring cliffs of Vestvagoy, the largest of the Lofoten Islands, provide the ideal nesting ground for an abundance of bird life. From Leknes, we offer a choice of shore excursions. You can take a relaxing panoramic tour of the islands; visit a Viking centre; or discover how fishermen lived many years ago at the Vestvagoy Fishing Museum.
DAY 6 The North Cape
Honningsvag is situated 1,200 miles from the North Pole, and is the starting point for our shore excursion to the North Cape. Here, as you stand on the 300-metre high cliffs, you’ll feel as though you are on top of the world. Cast your gaze across the vast expanse of Arctic Ocean and marvel at the phenomenon of the Midnight Sun, a truly unforgettable experience. We return to the Ocean Majesty to sail past the North Cape and look up at the sheer magnificence of the cliffs.
DAY 7 Alta
Alta is situated in Finnmark, the northernmost county in Norway. Given its northerly position, Alta's climate in the summer is surprisingly warm and the surrounding area is rich in forest and vegetation. Shore excursions include a visit to Hjemmeluft, where you will find rock carvings that are believed to be 2,500 years old and the Tirpitz War Museum; you can also visit a Husky camp for a tour of the kennels.
DAY 8 Tromso
Once described as the 'Paris of the North', the city of Tromso is a delightful mix of traditional wooden houses and striking modern architecture. Arctic Norway’s cultural and commercial hub, it is home to the stunning Arctic Cathedral, and the world’s northernmost university and brewery. Shore excursions include a city tour; a trip to the Polaria Museum and Arctic Cathedral; and a visit to a Husky camp.
DAY 9 Cruising
Spend some time on deck today and keep your eyes open for the amazing wildlife of the region. Look out for whales – if you’re lucky you may see one of these marvellous creatures spouting.
DAY 10 Alesund
Built on three islands, the fishing town of Alesund was devastated by fire in 1904. It was rebuilt in delightful Art Nouveau style with colourful, elaborate and extravagantly decorated facades, spires and turrets that give this lively fishing community an almost fairytale appearance. Shore excursions include a harbour cruise; a visit to the neighbouring outer islands of Giske and Godoy; and a trip to the fascinating open-air museum to see traditional scenes from Norwegian life throughout the ages.
DAY 11 Bergen
Once capital of Norway, the charming city of Bergen is set on seven hills. Known as the ‘Gateway to the Fjords’, history abounds around every corner in the city. Visit the Bryggen district – the most historic quarter of the city – where you’ll find a bustling market and workshops, craft stores and cafes in colourfully painted former warehouses. Shore excursions include a drive into the scenic countryside around Bergen, a funicular ride into the hills for spectacular views across the city and a visit to the home of composer Edvard Grieg at Troldhaugen.
DAY 12 Cruising
A final day to enjoy the ship’s facilities as we head for home.
DAY 13 Friday 26 June Harwich
We disembark in Harwich this morning.
