Your Itinerary
Day 1 UK/Siem Reap
Depart on your flight to Cambodia.
Day 2 Siem Reap
Arrive in Siem Reap this morning and transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay. This afternoon we begin our exploration of Cambodia in Angkor Thom, visiting the Bayon temple and the terraces of the leper King and elephants. We watch the sun set over stunning Angkor Wat before continuing to the popular Viroths’s restaurant.
Day 3 Siem Reap
This morning we visit Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious complex, and the temple of Suryavarman II, a powerful 12th-century king. Lunch today will be at the Sala Bai restaurant, a free hospitality school that trains 100 young disadvantaged Cambodians each year. After lunch, we head to the Ta Prohm Temple, which is slowly being reclaimed by nature. Dinner this evening will be at the Angkor vVllage Theatre, where you will also enjoy a cultural dance show.
Day 4 Phnom Penh
After breakfast today we enjoy a half-day cookery class that starts with a trip to a Siem Reap market. After a light lunch at the Sugar Palm restaurant, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Phnom Penh, where we stay overnight. Dinner this evening is at the popular non-profit Friends restaurant, which is run by former street children.
Day 5 Ho Chi Minh City
We enjoy a tour of Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital, this morning, where we see sights such as the Royal Palace, National Museum and the Russian Market. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh city, where you will spend the next two nights. You will spend the afternoon discovering the delights of the city, once known as Saigon. We spend time touring the former Presidential Palace, now Reunification Hall, and visit Ben Thanh market, where we can take the opportunity to sample a bowl of pho, vietnam’s world-famous noodle soup. Dinner tonight will be at a Saigon institution – Maxim’s Nam An restaurant.
Day 6 Mekong Delta
Enjoy a fabulous excursion deep into the Mekong Delta today. The river Mekong descends for 3,000 miles from the Tibetan plateau to the South China Sea. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant, where the speciality is a remarkable dish called ‘elephant’s ear fish’, before returning to Ho Chi Minh City by road mid-afternoon. Dinner tonight will be at the Vietnam House restaurant.
Day 7 Hoi An
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Danang, where we enjoy lunch in a popular seafood restaurant before taking the short journey to Hoi An, where we stay for the next two nights. during the afternoon we enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An’s attractive old town, visiting the ancient Japanese covered bridge and a Chinese communal house. Our dinner tonight will be at the riverfront Brothers Cafe, one of the most highly regarded restaurants in Hoi An.
Day 8 Hoi An
Join us early this morning as we take the opportunity to watch fishing boats unloading their catch on the riverfront and stroll through the nearby fish market before breakfast. During the morning we head to the outskirts of Hoi An and the village of Tra Que, which is famous for its organic vegetable gardens. We board a boat for a cruise along the Thu Bon river to Red Bridge, where we enjoy a welcome drink and tour of the herb gardens. We also participate in a two-hour hands-on cookery class, sampling the results of our endeavours for lunch in the outdoor restaurant on the riverbank. After lunch, you can either enjoy a cycle ride through the countryside or join our transfer to Cam Than village. Return to the hotel mid-afternoon with the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 9 Hanoi
Transfer to Danang this morning for the flight to northwards to Hanoi, where we stay for the next two nights. We spend the afternoon on a tour of Hanoi, where we visit Ba Dinh Square to visit Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum (subject to opening hours) and cottage. We also see the Opera House, Hoan Kiem lake and the Temple of Literature. We then enjoy a guided walk of the Ancient Quarter. Step aboard a cyclo (rickshaw-type taxi) this evening, which takes us to a water puppet show before heading to the Seasons of Hanoi restaurant for dinner.
Day 10 Halong Bay
This morning we travel out to the gulf of Tongking for a cruise around the emerald waters of Halong Bay, passing craggy limestone cliffs, spectacular caves and unspoilt beaches. We enjoy a sumptuous seafood lunch on board, returning to Hanoi in the afternoon.
Day 11 Hanoi
Today you are free in Hanoi to make your own discoveries. Alternatively, we offer a morning cookery class at the Wild Rice restaurant. The chef will demonstrate how to make traditional Vietnamese dishes that you will sample for lunch.
Day 12 Hanoi/UK
Transfer to the airport this morning for your return flight to the UK.

Regional connecting flights to London from only £69
If you can’t fly direct to your destination from your local airport (see individual holiday details), usually you will have the choice of taking a regional connecting flight to Heathrow or Gatwick from as little as £69 per person return. If your connecting flight and your flight from Gatwick or Heathrow is with British Airways or British Midland, your luggage will automatically be checked through to your final destination, so there’s no need to collect or check your luggage in twice.

Make your own way and save up to £150 per person
You may want more flexibility to make your own travel arrangements to combine your trip with visits to friends and relatives or travel from an airport which we do not offer. If so, why not take advantage of our make your own way option. We offer a reduction of £150 off many of our holidays to allow you to make your own arrangements, if that is what you want. Getting you there - Worldwide Holidays

If you live within a 250-mile drive of your departure airport, we will arrange for a taxi to pick you up from your door and take you to the airport, and drop you home on your return, with our compliments.

If you live further than 250 miles from the airport, or if you prefer, you can opt to transfer to the main departure airport by a connecting flight from an airport closer to home (subject to availability).
3. FREE National Express coach travel
